Amber Cooper
With a lifelong passion for piano that began at age five, Amber Cooper brings decades of dedicated study, performance, and teaching experience to Melisa Karan Music & Art Academy.
Amber began piano lessons early and actively participated in music festivals, local competitions, and the National Piano Guild Auditions (commonly known as Piano Guild festivals), performing approximately every three months starting in high school. These non-competitive evaluations provided consistent opportunities to refine technique, musicianship, and stage presence under expert guidance.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education with a minor in English from Pensacola Christian College, gaining a strong foundation in pedagogy, music theory, and performance. This preparation enables Amber to guide students effectively in both technical and expressive aspects of piano playing.

Amber’s teaching career spans a variety of settings, including music schools, private Christian schools, private home studios, homeschool co-ops, and homeschooling her own children. She has also served as a church accompanist, choir pianist, and accompanist for soloists, honing skills in sight-reading, ear training, collaboration, and musical support.
In her studio, Amber prioritizes helping students build confidence in performance while developing a deep understanding of music theory, strong sight-reading skills, reliable ear training, and the ability to accompany others or perform solo. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether they involve competitions, exams, festivals, recitals, church ministry, or personal enjoyment and lifelong musicianship. The focus is on fostering both technical excellence and a joyful, enduring love for music.
Amber continues to play for personal enjoyment and remains committed to inspiring the next generation of pianists. She looks forward to helping students discover their potential at the keys.
