She was born on 10 June 1984 in Izmir. She started her music education in 1992 in Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Children’s Choir under the direction of Yaşar ÜRÜK. In 1995, she started her piano education and in 1997 she started her violin education by winning the Music Department of Izmir Anatolian Fine Arts High School. In 2001, he entered Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education, Department of Music Teaching, where he continued his violin studies with Prof. Saadettin ÜNAL and then Prof. Feridun BÜYÜKAKSOY.
The same year she graduated, she enrolled in the master’s programme of Gazi University, Department of Music Education and graduated from this programme in May 2008 as the second in the department. During this period, he continued his studies with Muhammedjan TURDİYEV, a violin instructor at Bilkent University. In 2004, Melisa KARAN actively participated in the master classes of state artist Cihat AŞKIN and in 2006 she had the opportunity to work with state artist Suna KAN. Between 2006 and 2009, she continued her studies with Tayfun BOZOK, concertmaster of Ankara State Opera and Ballet, and Derya BOZOK, first violin member of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra.

She has performed as a soloist and orchestra member in many concerts in Turkey and abroad, and has worked as a second violin member in the concert activities of Ankara Conservatory Association and Odtü Symphony Orchestra. She started her piano education at the age of 11 with Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory Piano Department Faculty Member Seçil DÜNDAR and continued her education with Halil KAPLAN and Raika ÇOBAN at Izmir Fine Arts High School and with Prof. Serdar MUHATOV and Prof. Hakan EKMEN at Gazi University.
Between 2009-2013, she continued her harmony, vocal and piano studies in Blues, Latin and Jazz music genres with Ömür GİDEL and worked on working methods to make children love these music. On 1 February 2013, she founded the Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education Private Melisa Karan Art Centre and continues all her works related to art education in this institution.
In March 2014, in order to bring children with low socio-economic status into society and to bring them together with art, a social responsibility project called ‘One Note One Life’ was realised and 35 children at Naldöken Muharrem Candaş Primary School, which was selected as a pilot school by the District Directorate of National Education in Naldöken (Bornova) district of Izmir, were provided with instruments through volunteers and trained in string instruments for 8 months with volunteer teachers. Between 2015-2017, under the project leadership of Melisa KARAN, the activities continued at Naldöken Cultural Centre within the Cevdet İnci Education Foundation and a children’s symphony orchestra of 80 people was established.
In May 2014, she became a member of Izmir Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (IZSİAD) and from February 2016, she served as the President of IZSİAD Youth Commission for 8 months.
In August 2018, our founder, who launched our second branch in Bornova, is also a member of Izmir Youth Symphony Orchestra 1st Violin.
